How to test class a converter

Is there a way to determine if converter is defective other than batteries not charging? Any way to verify output?
Thanks

You could also test the voltage out of the converter. It should read greater than 12.7v.

It is VERY important to disconnect the negative post battery cable when doing converter tests. A damaged battery (or one that is discharged DEAD) will prevent the converter from powering up to protect the converter from damage.

I would also check the battery reverse connection protection in the power center. My converter has 2 40 amps orange fuses that WILL blow if the battery cables are hooked up backwards even momentarily.

I have also attached the WFCO 8900 series troubleshooting and repair guide that might help even if you have a different model.
