I goofed

I have a 23ikss rockwood roo

When I replaced my 7 Point plug on my trailer I forgot to disconnect my battery cables. It arched as I cut through and I heard a pop . The trailer plug worked fine after new one installed , it controls all my lights and braking system . But what I did notice is I can’t operate my slide outs with my batteries . I have to have the truck running in order to operate. I have checked all fuses in rv and the three underneath the trailer fuses with no luck .
Any thoughts?

Did you check breakers (DC) as well? They look like this with a small button on the side. Be sure to check both sides of it. They are typically in-line with the positive cable.

If I hold my button stabilizers too long it will trip and I have to reset it. Mine is near the 7point wiring box under the tongue for the Jack's. Not sure where the slider one is but it may be the same.

Best of luck!Click image for larger version

You should not have to disconnect the battery cables ( in the Roo) before plugging into the TV. If the Roo has been sitting for a while without some way to keep the battery charged, the battery was likely very weak or dead and what you heard was the TV dumping a large amount of current into the Roo battery. The fact that the slides will not operate with out the TV connected indicate this may be the issue. There are parasitic current draws in all RVs that will kill a battery in a week or two if either the battery is not disconnected, plugged into shore power or has another way to keep the battery charged ( solar or battery tender).

Also forgot to mention that I had been driving for 6 hours. Batteries even if they were dead should have been charged .

Reverse polarity fuses are typically on the inverter somewhere. I don't have a roo so cannot say specifically for your model where they are but with the others...see pic. Sometimes they are more hidden.

That is a valid point because if the breaker was tripped plugging in your truck would not work either for the slides. Low battery can also do it. Do the slides work when plugged in to shore power? If so then battery voltage is likely the issue. If they don't budge or make noise then it is likely the fuse or breaker somewhere.

For the above poster TV means Tow Vehicle. I think they missed that you cut the 7pin to replace it.Click image for larger version

Thanks for all the info .
You guys are a great source of info .
Turned out all I had to do was hit the reset button underneath trailer near the tongue.

Reverse polarity fuses are typically on the CONverter as shown in the pic.

Ha! They may be smart but they’re not intelligent.
