I think the confusion arises because of the terms used (switch on/off). Does ON mean batteries or disconnect. Suffice it to say that which ever your switch position (on or off) should be in to not
disconnect the batteries is the position for the switch to allow battery charging on shore power. You can check it by turning on some lights and not connected to shore power and then set the switch to both positions. That way you'll know.
