Inconsistent power...

- 2005 Forest River 25RKS TT
- Batteries dead and disconnected
- Plugged into shore power

So, after 7 years of the trailer being parked, I am finally to the point where I'm ready to use it. I went out to get the trailer ready and have noticed that I have some electrical devices working while others are not. The microwave and the carbon monoxide detector appear to be working, but devices such as power-slide-out, lights, fans, tvs, radios, etc. are not. I've checked all the 12-volt fuses and they're all good. All the breakers were in the "on" position, but I manually reset them anyway (and heard the carbon monoxide detector and microwave beep in protest). How can I tell where the problem lies? Is it as simple as making a "not everything will be fully functional without batteries" statement or could it be something else like the inverter? I have noticed that the fan on the inverter is not turning, but then again, nothing is powered on. I'd hate to take it into the shop if it's something I might be able to fix myself. Any ideas? you don't have an inverter your have a convertor . you need to test it to make sure its working .
the breakers are for 110v and the push in fuses are for the 12v so you need to check those .
altho the convertor will run with out the batteries you should have batteries installed.
by the way all the things that "work" are 110v
anything not working are 12v

my guess the convertor isn't working .

If your battery is DEAD you must remove it for your converter to "make" 12VDC to run your 12VDC equipment.

A dead battery is treated by the converter as a dead short and it shuts the battery charger circuit down. Remove your battery and have it tested by a auto store. They should do it for free.

ONLY buy a deep cycle battery or a "Dual Purpose" battery.
If it only says CCA on the battery you don't want it.

It has to say AmpHours or Reserve Capacity on it to provide house power to your camper.

Dual Purpose (Marine type) batteries will "work" but suck at capacity compared to a true deep discharge battery because they also have to be able to start an engine.

Unfortunately, I still have no 12VDC anything. So, I'm going to assume it's the converter as well. No big deal about the batteries as I knew they'd be shot after this amount of time just sitting. Now I just need to try to find a replacement converter. Anyone have any suggestions? I'll post the make and model a little later. Thanx.

Might wanna try checking for DC output fuses(from converter) and A/C supply to conv breaker before renewing converter.
