I want to replace the 12V light bulbs with LED lights inside my MH. They have a wedge shaped base. I thought I found what I was looking for on Amazon
but I am concerned about the following sentence in the description:"Notice: Cannot use for DC13V RV or Above DC13v, high voltage may very hot and Burned out!" (direct quote - probably from China like everything else these days).
I know automotive generators produce near 14V, but will that voltage be transferred to the RV electrical equipment or will it be reduced to 12V once it leaves the battery? I installed an LED light strip under the outside canopy, the strip was originally wired for 120V, but I cut off the transformer and attached a cigarette lighter plug. The seller told me I should use a dimmer or the light strip would burn out quickly because the power source could be up to 14V.
So now I am confused and my question is: does the DC electrical system run on 12V exactly or can it be up to 14V? And if the latter, do I need to worry about burned-out lights/motors etc.?
