LED light strip

I have a Cedar Creek with power awning. I want to install a led light strip on the outside of the camper and wire it to the power awning. This camper is on a permanent site so it is not transported. The kit I bought comes with a transformer to convert it to 110 but prefer to use the power awning. Anyone know how to do this?
Thanks.

Most of the leds run off of 12 volt dc.
Take a look at the power supply it will be listed on it. Look for the output. If it is dc it will be be labeled dc or have a solid line with a dotted line under it to represent dc.
If it is dc you just need to pick up a 12 volt source from the camper.

Hi Waunarv, where/how did you end up wiring your lights? I haven't mounted mine partly because I want a good somewhat permanent solution on my Cedar Creek

When I installed LED lights on my trailer,I tapped into the 12vt step light.I ran the wire through plastic molding up to where the LED strip was installed under the awning.I put the 12vt.controller in a weatherproof box cover.
