Water and a short circuit would most definitely blow a fuse or one of those breakers that I mentioned in an earlier post.
I would try to isolate/repair that cut/pinched wire you found and keep looking for a blown fuse/circuit breaker (resettable one).

X2 on NO wiring diagrams. Each technician lays out his wiring freehand (his way). There are usually no pre-made wire harnesses in TT's & 5'ers. That way they can change things around during the model year and not have a bunch of harnesses that don't fit anymore. Which makes it more difficult to trace electrical issues.

I figured it out one of the return wires was not making contact. Stripped it back and re lugged the wires together and now it works
