i have the champion 3100 inverter from camping world. i get complements on the lack of noise. It has no issue's running the 15k ac on my tt. I have ran the microwave and the water hearter in eltric mode but not whil the ac it on. i fo however have the fridg on ac while running the other. It has lots of good reviews and warranty. plus its cheaper than a honda

I have the Honda 2000i's in parallel when noise is a factor, but a HF 8750 mounted in the truck for over the road and short track racing. 30 Amp trailer, Honda's run 15K air with no problem and you can sneak a microwave meal too once in a while with the AC on. Trailer rewired to a front connection to use the over the road generator. Have a 14k NG Guardian at home, so all set no matter what. Lost power all of 2hrs at home in 3 yrs!

i wish champ made that 3100 or something a smidge larger with a remote start, and aux tank friendly....i would be all over that!!

also, we should all mention at what altitude we are running.....because even here in west texas at 3500ft i notice a difference in power from south texas......and even more so at 7-8k ft in the mtns....

i think the power loss is like 5% per 1k ft above sea level over 500ft...but im not sure im buying that my units are 25% less effective in the mtns than at home.....certainly it is less, but i could hardly run my converter if it was such a drastic loss of power?...and then another 1% loss for every 10 degrees over 85 i think..

i have the high altitude jets for my champ 4000 non inverter......never put them in....dont even know if they make em for the smaller 2000i...

wonder if i can turbo/supercharge my genny? lol

I am at just over 3000 feet elevation but I have never noticed a power output difference w my Yamaha inverter no matter where I am.
This is possibly because the Yamaha ef2400is uses the same engine (171cc) as it's bigger brother 3000 watt generator. So it has a more powerful engine than it needs to begin with.

Btw a 2000w gennie will almost not run a 13.5k a/c and if it does you may be putting low voltage to it.
It definitely shouldn't be used with a 15k

Sabre owners united!
TURBS,

I could not find out what the DB Rating for the Champion was (and that bothered me)
Yamaha is up front (as is Honda) - the 2000W ones are 46 DB and I believe the 3000W one is 54

When you see the propaganda - I mean PR videos - it shows folks sitting around the generator chatting away (which, I suspect is when the genny is putting out 25% not 50%+ )

The 2000i champs are 53 @ 23ft....

The yamahas are 52 and the hondas are 53 ...but I dont know at what distance...and that makes a bit of difference...and at load they are ALL a lil noisey...lol

sent from fat fingers via a space dish thing with no regard to grammer.

The champ 3100 are not parallel capable...the honda, yama, and champ 2000 are...

I live at 830 feet, have used my genset from 15 feet to about 6200 feet without a noticeable difference in performance or fuel consumption.

Remember the rating and Model number don't Match.

Honda EU 2000 I is only 1800 watts continuous, parallel 3600 watts

Champion 2000 inverter is 1600 watts continuous, parallel 3200 watts

I like the idea of the Champion 3100 but this running a 15k AC at 100 degrees might be a tad light still. Actually need 3500 watts to be safe at a Honda Cost..

champy 2000i are 1700/2000 save for the costco reds which are 1600/2000

parallel 3400....but your right on the 3100...it MAY run a newer 15k a/c with a start cap....but if i were buying with that in mind, 3100 just aint enough mustard for me.....even my paralleled 3400/4000 champys are hit and miss depending on altitude and ambient temp....

i have a honda 6500is now for when ac is a MUST have necessity......but sweet baby jesus its heavy and bulky!!
