Light switch working backwards
2015 Forester 3051s. All of the sudden the living room light switch located on the electric control panel works backwards. When the switch is in the on position the lights are off and vice versa. Nothing has been changed in the lighting circuits. One day it was correct the next day it was reversed.????

Probably a stupid question.... but do you have any other switches that control that light? On ours, it's a bit like the lights in my home kitchen. Two switches control the one light.

No other switches on any of the lights controlled with that switch. Not a 3 way switch. Standard cheap rv wall type light switch. The only way I have ever seen this situation is when a switch was removed and replaced 180 degrees.

I would venture to guess that an internal contact within the switch has broken and is somehow completing the circuit when in the off position.
Having said that, after owning my trailer for a short time, all of a sudden and for one weekend only, the bathroom vent fan would only work when the bathroom light switch was turned on. Only did it once...never did it again.....and its back to working with the light switch off.

Thanks, I'm going to pull the switch in the next couple of days and see what is going on. The lights still work so no hurry.

Just a thought, my sunseeker has a switch next to the battery switch, when you enter the rv, it also controls the living room lights, which causes the other switch to operate in reverse.

3 way switch. You just need to find the other switch!!

I have a 2014 3051S. There is a 3-way switch for LR lights. Mine is down by the step with the awning switch, porch light switch, etc. Not sure if 2015 models are the same.

Bill and Gail and Dmnsen Y'all are right on. Thank you, that was it. The light switch by the porch light was switched. In almost 4 years and 43000 miles I didn't know that that switch was there. Thanks again.

You might look at the entry door steps for the other switch that controls the LR lights. If it just happened, it has to be a 3-way.

kITCHEN Light switch reversed now
I know this is an old post but looking for more causes of a switch being backwards.
2020 Forest River Surveyor 226RBDS
Sequence of events.
1. brought in dining slide under 12.6 volts of battery power at the start. (The slide works good under shore power but sometimes the dining slide blows a fuse when the voltage is lower than the 13.2-7 volts when hooked to shore power.)
2. this blew the 30 amp fuse when it came to a stop. Kitchen lights went out.
3. When I replaced the 30 amp fuse the the dining lights switch started working in reverse. switch off -the lights were on. Switch ON - the lights were off.
4. No it does not have a 3-way switch.
5. the other light switches work correctly.
6. None of the fuses were labeled from the factory.
7. The 30 amp fuse controls the two slides and the kitchen overhead lights. (It seems odd that these lights do not have their own fuse. Other lights have different 10 amp fuses.)
Which brings me back to the beginning...WHY IS THE SWITCH REVERSED NOW?
