Lights, lights, too many damn lights!

I can't sleep!

Let's see, little blue light on the bedroom TV when that TV is off. I can cover it with a Sticky note, and still work the remote through the sticky note, but it's harder.

The little blue lights from the JACK antenna keep me awake even though they are in the front section and I'm in the TV. Ok, I could turn the JACK off, BUT.... I like to watch TV at night with the sleep timer. Can't turn the JACK off for that. OK, I could shut both accordian doors to stop that but I have a cat who sleeps with me. It's litter box is in the front section. Gotta leave doors open for His Highness to get to his litter box.

The Jensen stereo in the center section (kids zone/computer zone, depending on which option you got) is lit up, keeps me awake. Ok, again the accordian door, but ok again, the cat........

Then there are the blue lights on my Verizon HOme PHone connect router which is in the computer zone...... I have to cover it with paper. Ok, again, could use the accordian door but again, the cat......

And then the lights from my laptop. Ok, I could shut down the computer each night, too lazy to........

I love all these high tech gizmos that make your RV feel like a "real home" and not an RV, but all these damn lights keep me awake!

The only solution is to get me a sleep mask.......

I have the same problem at home. I found that a little spot of black electrical tape makes lights go out...and it's hardly noticeable.

Use hibernate on your computer for a faster startup/shutdown.

Home or RV, you turn off all the lights and it still looks like the bridge of Starship Enterprise! I use the black electrical tape trick.

Face mask, sleeping pill or just learn to stay up at night. The black electric tape idea sounds like a good one.

Actually, that's been proven. Well, I read it somewhere on the internet, and you KNOW you can't put anything on the internet that isn't true....

just play NASCAR races all night. They are great at putting me to sleep. 5 min in and I'm off in dreamworld while DH is enjoying his race.

Right now, I'm camp hosting in a place where there is NO TV Reception. So, JACK antenna is off. That is helping some........ The JACK antenna is the worst for being bright with the blue lights and one red light.

If your eyes are closed, how do you see anything?

Absolutely! Whatever works for ya. I've even known non-imbibers to partake in variations of this concoction and come back saying they've never slept better.

Unplug from shore power, disconnect battery, check 9 volts in smoke and co detectors. Done.

Come on! Even with your eyes closed, you can ascertain that lights are on or off...... your eyelids are somewhat transparent....... Try it. Close your eyes and turn a light off, then on. You can tell...........

I sure can't help you- I can sleep with lights on, full sun, loud noise, you name it!

Good luck. I do understand what you mean about the lights being right. My wife's alarm clock has multiple settings- really bright, super bright and landing a plane bright or off. Strangest thing. Doesn't bother me any, though.

For the folding door and the cat- what about a simple answer of just cutting a cat door into it? You'd be able to close the door but still let McMuffins in and out as she pleases.

I thought of that...... but I hate altering things, I'm always afraid it's going to affect resale value. I seem to trade RV's every three years. However, I LOVE this 3170 Sunseeker with the COMPUTER DESK (not the kids zone), I may just keep it awhile!

And "McMuffin" likes to bury himself deep in my bed covers. My previous RV was Sunseeker 3120 (I have had two of those....), and I was able to keep "McMuffins" litter box in the bedroom under the vanity table. Plus, the configuration of the 3120, with the "side hallway and three long windows" allowed the bedroom to be pretty much cut off from the front section. The 3120 had this HUGE bathroom and the bathroom also cut off the bedroom from the front section so I didn't see all the "lights."

With the 3170 I have a center hallway instead of the side hallway, so now all the lights can be seen from the bedroom. I also have a SMALL bathroom, but that's the compromise to get the kids zone/computer zone.
