Lost electricity

Hi everyone,

Just got set up and hooked up to 30 amp shore power in an RV park in Estes Park. All was fine, running the A/C until I turned on the microwave and lost all power. Checked the outside breaker, was not flipped and turned it off and on anyway. Also checked it with a meter and confirmed I'm getting power to the RV. No breakers in the unit were flipped either, so I also flipped all of them off and back on again. Still no power. Checked the fuses also and all look ok. There's a reset button on an outlet in the kitchen that I tried to reset, but it doesn't seem to do anything. What am I missing?

Thanks for any help!

Are you sure your getting power from the 30amp plug at the cg? Not just one of the other 20amp plugs?

If so need to make sure power is entering the trailer next. Does the power cord have an indicator that power is going through it?

There is NO power at all at any other outlets? (not the 12v stuff).

Check the connections if there is a junction box, and if there is nothing wrong, check the wires that feed the panel in your trailer, might be a lose wire, also sheck that the breakers are seated in the panel

If you are getting power I to the camper make sure it is making it to the power panel. If you have a meter (you do) and are handy you can check to see at the breaker of the camper for power.. I will say I have had breakers fail in the campers from just being cheap. Also make sure the wires are ACTUALLY screwed into the terminals at the breaker... They are often barely in there if loose from the start.

Check the 30A breaker in the distribution panel. Turn it off then back on.

That part is separate from the 120 side. When you are not hooked to the truck is the 12v part still working or is that out as well? Should keep powered by the battery for at least a little while.

do you have an EMS that monitors your incoming power. if so, does it show any error codes that might be causing it to interrupt incoming power?

Well, with some help from other RV'ers we determined power was coming into the unit and the power panel but not making it to the 30 amp breaker. The original owners had two 200 watt solar panels with a 1500 watt inverter installed. What we finally figured out was the 110 power is going through the inverter that tripped when we turned the microwave on with the A/C running. It has a reset button that had popped out and power in the unit came back on when it was pushed back in. So I need to have something with the solar modified so we can run more than the A/C at the same time, and I'm not knowledgeable enough to figure that out on my on! Thanks to everyone who responded!

Thanks for coming back and letting us know how it turned out.

Since you have 30 amp service, you may have to get used to the fact that you may not be able to run the A/C and the M/W at the same time. 30 amps might not be enough if the microwave is at full power and the A/C compressor starts.
