master switch???

Hi folks,
I'm new to RV'ing and to this forum and I would like your advice on something.

I just bought a 2005 Lexington 255, class B. We are very pleased with everything so far but the unit did not come with ANY instructions or manuals. We figured out everything, I think, but we're still puzzled with the red illuminated toggled switch, on the left side of the entrance just above the 12 volt "run/store" 12 volt switch?

It should disconnect your battery when you are not hooked to shore power.
If u don't disconnect your batteries they will go dead.

Thx Turbs. I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing.

There are two toggle switches in that area. The lower one is identified as "run/store". I figured out it is the main switch for the 12 volt system. When switched to "run" it turns on the 12 volt system. On "store" it cuts out the 12 volt system completely. I agree that the switch should be flipped to 'store' when not in use to save battery "juice".

The switch that I'm referring to is above this panel and is a separate, single, illuminated toggle switch. I initially thought it was the cutoff for the battery charger but I don't think that's the case. I checked the voltage at the battery with the switch on,and off, with external 120v power and with the generator and it doesn't make any difference to the voltage at the batteries.
