We are new to TT ownership and have several questions regarding winter storage (at the house). Should we disconnect the battery and remove it? Leave it connected and charge it periodically over winter? Have it hooked up to shore power all the time? Also, should we disconnect the propane tanks? Thanks

I remove mine and put a Battery tender on it, I do not unhook the propane bottles.

Any of the three battery options you posted is fine, just do the one you like.

I also live in Missouri and the camper is parked at the house. For the past 10 years I just plug into shore power for the winter. No problems. I also leave the propane tanks hooked up. Basically, just winterize the water system and wait for springtime.

personally i prefer to remove the battery and store in a reasonable temperature. either charging periodically or with a tender on it. Leaving it in the trailer and the trailer plugged in is also a viable option, personally i prefer not to do that as and issue with the shore power line (tripped breaker or something eating the cord) and your going to end up with a dead and frozen battery.

as for the propane, no need to disconnect, just turn of bottles incase their is a leak that develops

Anything plugged in and on is working, not sure if that is excessive or not given some people live in RV's year around.

If you leave it connected full time, be sure your power converter is a 3 or 4 stage that will automatically reduce to a maintenance rate so it doesn't overdrive the battery. For example:

Also if you have a battery disconnect switch, that will have to be "on".

I leave my propane tanks hooked up, but I pull the battery and put it on a battery tender in the garage...takes 2 min to put the battery back in and hit the road.
