Newbie battery help

It's our second season with our a-frame.
I already "boiled" one battery leaving the trailer plugged in too long.
I have installed a new deep cycle battery now and have a charger so I don't overcharge again.

1. Can I install the battery charger leads to the battery permanently, so I can charge it while still connected to the trailer? (Or do I need to disconnect the battery from the TT while it's charging?

2. Is the TT battery charging from the TV while we're traveling down the road?

3. I know it's been answered before, but for clarity, if I leave the TT plugged in to my TV while camping, does it drain my TV battery?

Thank you for your help with a beginner!

I am not familiar with A-frame campers, but I suspect a bad battery or a defective charger. Should not do that.

Yes > if you are using a computer controlled maintainer I suggest you turn it off prior to connecting RV to shore power.
2. Is the TT battery charging from the TV while we're traveling down the road?
Technically yes, but unless you have upgraded wiring in TV you will most likely keep a fully charged battery charged while traveling. You will not be able to recharge a depleted battery on a normal driving day.
3. I know it's been answered before, but for clarity, if I leave the TT plugged in to my TV while camping, does it drain my TV battery?
Depends. Some TVs have a relay in the fuse block that disconnects the 12V aux line when the ignition is off. If you do not have a relay, the RV can drain the TV battery.

The forums I have read suggest that it's better to use a battery maintainer than to try use the TT converter (with shore power) to keep the battery charged. Does that make sense to you?

Thanks, that's helpful!

Is there a way to tell if I have a relay?

Thanks so much for your help!
