No 110 devices working

We are at the campsite and are plugged into 30 amp 110. No AC no TV. The fuses and breakers appear ok. I checked the power at the end of the cord. That is ok and the GFCI was tested and nothing happened. There is no fan noise coming from the power supply box. The camper is a 21FBRS Flagstaff just over a year old. Anything else I should try, or get a battery charger and limp through the weekend?

Sounds like you are the original owner so you would know if it has a surge protector of some sort?

Sometimes it's hard to tell if a breaker is tripped. I would try turning them all off and back on again.

Have tried shutting the breakers several times and I have not added a surge protector but that sounds like a great idea.

Have you tested power at the distribution
Center.

You said you checked the power at the end of "the cord". How did you do that? You could have an open neutral which would still allow you to measure 120v from the hot to the ground. You should have 120v from hot to ground AND from hot to neutral (and no voltage between ground and neutral).

I just have a little circuit tester I stuck in the female end of the shore cord plug. It lit so I had power. That was pretty much the extent of my electrical ability.

Have you talked to the campground and asked them to check it out? It sounds like there's no neutral at there end.

So to make sure I'm understanding this correctly, the power cord that you use to connect your RV to the pedestal detaches completely from your RV and with it plugged in to the pedestal, you measured voltage at the end that you would normally plug in to the outside of you're RV? Correct?

So as I said above, make sure that you observe voltage between one of the terminals where you had voltage before and TWO other terminals (eg, the "other one" you had before and one more).

Perhaps you should contact the park management and have them send a tech over to verify that your outlet doesn't have an open neutral.

It is unusual for someone to have a tester for a 30 amp RV shore power cord end. Are you using a home extension cord?

Perhaps you are using an adapter and tester to test it?

I am at a national park so no luck with a maintenance guy. We are ok. Thanks for all the responses. We'll swing the dealer on the way home tomorrow.

Problem Solved

Just an update from the wife here:

We stopped at the dealer on the way home today and after having us park & plug in the first service guy did the same thing we did with the breakers (turning them on & off) and trying to reset the GFCI outlet...then went in for another technician who solved the problem by switching the main breaker off and holding it off for a minute then switching it on.

So all is well and we're back in business for the next trip out. Fortunately it wasn't hot enough to need the AC and we can live without the microwave and I didn't want to use the TV anyway.

My thinking is that they should have replaced that breaker. At least you now know the magic incantation for when it goes out next time.
