No 12 volt power

Everything worked last weekend. This weekend only the 110 works. All 12 volt (lights, fridge, water heater) do not work.

It’s plugged into campground shore power. I don’t have a battery installed.

Reset 110 breakers, checked all 12 volt fuses. All good.
Thank you for your help.

Some systems require a 12v battery as a buffer for the converter. Don't know what you have but most TT are required to have a battery for their breakaway system. Try it with a battery installed.

I removed a bad battery from my unit 2 weeks ago and my 12v stuff all worked. I had to have my battery disconnect switch in Connect mode.

You should post your year, make, model however. Not all units are alike.

Was any work done on the trailer during the week? Check the circuit breakers and see if the converter has power. My Wildcat does not need a battery to operate but I use one to keep from having to run the converter all the time.
There are 2 30 amp DC fuses on the converter. see if they are good.

Make sure the loose battery terminals are not shorting against the frame or each other. Don't want the positive battery terminals shorting against anything metal on the camper or it can take out your converter.

If battery terminals are secure, insulated, and not touching each other or any part of the camper, check converter fuses, and then converter output. If converter has 120 volts AC going to it, fuses check out ok, and no converter output, buy a new battery and new converter. Converter should be putting out about 13.8 volts minimum.

Also check your battery disconnect switch if you have one. If the switch or solenoid go bad your DC will go bad but AC will function while in shore power.

Check the resettable breaker under the tongue. Push button on end. Looks like photo below. If you are towing the TT you NEED a battery to operate the breakaway system. Always good to have a battery in case shore power goes out, you can still have water, light and fridge for a while.

Since you didn't post type/year/make/model of RV and its not listed in your profile, we don't have enough information.

As was said, some RVs require the battery to be installed.

Is it possible to require members to list year/make/model when they sign up? It sure would be helpful. AND put it in there a signature?

cavie, what about those who don't own a RV yet and join to get help choosing one?
We get a lot of members like that.

Required or not Always a good idea to have a battery installed. It buffers demand to keep 12 surge type hits off the converter/charger and acts to smooth out the quality of the12v. Without good 12v a lot of systems won't work right.

Seems like the converter on our rig had two big power fuses on the converter itself not the fuse panel. They were some kind of a surge protector, overload protect or reverse polarity protect on my old unit and I know when they blew nothing worked on the 12 volt side. Again I think I blew them because I snapped too much of a load on it and had a dead battery at the same time. Much like having no battery installed I guess.

It doesn’t take much of a surge to blow those fuses

It's only been about 5 hours since he posted his question. Maybe he hasn't had a chance to get back onto the internets to check for replies.
