Usually the 40 amp fuses blow because the battery was hooked up backwards.

I think the 40's are reverse polarity fuses normally. Has anyone had the battery off...or maybe hooked booster cables or an outside charger to it?

Have you connected or disconnected the battery lately?

The wiring colors on RV's can be confusing, especially if you have black and white leads instead of black/red.

If black and white leads, they are usually wired like your house is and the black is the POSITIVE wire while the white is the negative. This gets many members sometimes.

You may need to trace that white wire if applicable to your RV, and see if it's going to a ground or similar.

Now if you have red/black leads, then most likely it's wired like an automobile and your red is the POSITIVE, while the black is the negative.

They couldn't just make it simple. On my Flagstaff with black/white leads, the black is the Positive.

Maybe you took a surge. Check your transfer switch if you have one.

No codes, all is well there.
I have the batterie hooked up correctly.
Baffling to me. Radio is it too.
At lease the 30 Amp fuses have fixed my issues.
Now need to find out why.
Baffling.
Thanks everyone for your help.

"No electricity" means all your electrical plugs are dead and your microwave won't work... right?

What kind of a trailer do you have?

I have seen discussion where it was thought possible to blow the fuses if
you have a really dead battery. When you plug in the charger goes to max
output and if you have a 55 amp charger it blows the fuses.

It's only a wild guess based on previous discussions...

Yes, I've seen that written here (by our friend Bob maybe) but I couldn't find it this morning.

The fuses vare the reverse polarity ones.
The radio wasn't working either.
All is well now even the radio is fixed.
Not sure how I crossed the cables on battery.
Baffling.
Thanks everyone for the help.

OK about the Popcorn, but Most People use the Clock on the Microwave to "Easily" tell if they have "Shore Power" which is what we were trying to figure out for Your "No Electric" Post! But if you have unplugged your Microwave the clock will not work! Thanks for letting us supply WAGs to your No Electric issue! Youroo!!
