We are at a Campground and all is well at the pedestal. However we are not getting anything working in trailer.
No electricity.
Any ideas?

Usually the 40 amp fuses blow because the battery was hooked up backwards.

I think the 40's are reverse polarity fuses normally. Has anyone had the battery off...or maybe hooked booster cables or an outside charger to it?

Have you connected or disconnected the battery lately?

The wiring colors on RV's can be confusing, especially if you have black and white leads instead of black/red.

If black and white leads, they are usually wired like your house is and the black is the POSITIVE wire while the white is the negative. This gets many members sometimes.

You may need to trace that white wire if applicable to your RV, and see if it's going to a ground or similar.

Now if you have red/black leads, then most likely it's wired like an automobile and your red is the POSITIVE, while the black is the negative.

They couldn't just make it simple. On my Flagstaff with black/white leads, the black is the Positive.

Maybe you took a surge. Check your transfer switch if you have one.
