Do you have a battery disconnect? Or resettable circuit breaker on near battery cables.
List your model info so we can help.

first, it always helps to post year, make and model of RV that you have.

second, was the battery recently removed or have you had it checked? do you have a battery disconnect switch installed?

third, you have a CONVERTER, not an inverter, that charges the battery when you're plugged into shore power. an inverter converts 12v DC battery power to 110v AC power, to run things like tv's and dvd players.

Check fuse for converter, (auto style fuse) if fuse is OK then check converter for power. Check your 7 way plug. we had a person at the CG last year that had his 7 way short out and it caused the fuse in the converter to fail.

If you don't have a multimeter now is the time to buy one and leave it in the camper.
As suggested above you need to start checking for voltage at various points to find the issue/issues.

Converter may have failed.
Converter breaker may have tripped.
Fuses may have blown.
Resetable circuit breakers may have tripped.

Need make and model of converter to get you a troubleshooting guide.

update: turned all the circuit breakers back on ( I had turned them off when I was trouble shooting because converter was super hot when trailer was plugged in to house) nothing came on right away but tried the slide out and it worked, looked at everything else and its all working now that thing in the tongue has quit making noise ( what is it?) and also what would cause the circuit breaker to need to be reset? thanks for your help its been greatly appreciated!

That red thing is another circuit breaker.
Get a new one of the same amp.

Sounds to me like the converter failed.
