No power in slides

All 12 volt lights work when hooked to electricity. However when there's a power outage the 12v lights don't.
And nothing electrical works in any of the slide outs?
This is frustrating because that's where the majority of 110 plugs and lights are.
What would be the cause?
Please help.

Hi, First what type unit are you in? 2nd: Do you have a battery in your unit. Your lights and slides work off 12volts and require a battery. They are working off your convertor while you are plug into shore electric. Make sure your battery is good or connected. You may also have some bad fuses in your panel.

Do you have a battery shut off switch? If you are not getting 12 volt during a power failure you are not getting power from the battery. As for the outlets in the slide they will not work with 12 volt unless you have a inverter. The outlets are all 120 volt. You could have a bad battery or a blown fuse or bad circuit breaker. Some trailers have a resettable circuit breaker mounted on the frame just back from where the battery is located.

It's 2003 Forest River platinum.
It has 3 slides
Do you need the VIN?

And yes there's a battery disconnect. And it's on.
I'm not sure if the battery's connected properly. However my main concern is getting the electrical in the slides working.
But strangely the concertone radio is built in the entertainment slide and it works. Just none of the plugs nor the lights.

Never list VIN in any postings. You say there is no power in the 120 when you have a power outage. Is there power in the slides at other times. If you do not have power at any time, I would check under slideouts for damaged wires. When I fist got my unit had no lights in the slide. Discovered the wires were never connected under the slide. Two Mar connectors and some electrical tape and all is well.

I would then check under the slide for damaged or disconnected wires. Before going under trailer shut off all 120 volt going to trailer. If there is a damage or disconnected wire you could get a shock.

If reversed polarity did occur, it will open fuses between battery and the converter. Result no slides or battery to coach. Some times on the converter or otherwise closeby mounted in line.

All wires seem to be good and in tact. Keep in mind this is happening in all 3 slides. Could it be something else? Or is there a switch or something I'm supposed to turn on? This is my first camper that has slides. Could I have missed something simple? Considering it has no electricity in all 3 slides and every where else the electricity works?

Try to check all the breakers maybe some is off. Or all the wires are nit connected from the slides to the main panel. Is this unit is still under warranty?

I don't think GFI outlets have been mentioned yet.
Have you located and checked all of those?
Each GFI will affect several outlets.

No power tp slides

Had same problem. Check to make sure that the connectors have not slipped off behind the switch or have shorted out. Pull panel and should be easy to check. Good luck
