Old Battery fried...how to care for new one?
We had purchased a 2011 Microlite in January. We went to start the fridge on propane last month to get it cold for a 3 day camping trip. It would not light so my husband tested the battery and it was low. He brought it home and put it on the battery charger and it would not charge. After looking at the posts on here, he checked the water level and it was totally dry. We just purchased a new battery last night and we started the fridge for our short 2 day trip tomorrow. My question is what is the right way to take care of a battery? We have so many obligations that we aren't able to go camping only about once a month for 2-3 days at a time and the place we camp is only 20 minutes away. We use electrical hookups at the campground. The camper is stored at my daughter's house and about one night every 2 weeks, my husband and I spend the night there just chilling out and we plug it in on those nights and then unplug it for the rest of the time. Should the battery be disconnected when the camper is not being used or the nights we have it plugged into electrical?
