on board generator and battery charging

How long should it take the on board generator to charge the battery? I have a deep cycle marine battery and it went dead. We used jumper cables to get the generator to start. Just wondering how long I will have to let the generator run. Btw 2012 forest river stealth.

It depends on the brand and model of converter you have. A Progressive Dynamics converter will take about 3 hours to get to 90% charge and 15 hours to go to 100%.

I'm not familiar with your RV but it's usually part of the electric panel where your fuses and circuit breakers are. It'll be a panel close to the floor usually.

It is usually behind your 12volt DC fuse panel in the kitchen

Ok. I think I figured out the problem. The battery would not keep a charge in cold weather. Got back home to 85 degrees and the battery indicator showed full charge. I guess its time to replace the battery.
