Open Ground Reading

A quick question to electricians here. I just installed my Progressive 50 amp EMS box on my 5er. I have it plugged into a 30 amp plug in the garage. It's given me an "open ground" reading.
Is this due to the 30 amp garage hookup ?

Could be if that's a 220 volt outlet (dryer/welder). If progressive closes circuit, it shouldn't, you can have a lot of damage to your RV. Can you check the outlet after disconnect. If you have 110 volt top left to bottom and again 110 volt top right to bottom its wrong outlet.

Older 30 amps have two hots and one neutral, no ground.
New RV 30 amp have one hot, one neutral and one ground. Plugs look alike.

Open Ground Reading

I just had the RV plug installed last month. The guy that installed it has done a lot of them. It has 120 , neutral and common. It was cheaper to install the 30 amp. The thought was to plug in and run the 5er before heading out .
I ran the 5er for a solid day after he installed the plug. It ran fine. Guess I'll call him back to double check his work.
Thanks bud
