I bought a hardwired EMS for our camper too. The EMS is mounted in the compartment where the power convertor is and I mounted the remote display in the little cubby above the fridge where we normally keep bread and chips. It's out of the way but can be seen when needed.

I like having it a lot. All I have to do is check the voltage and polarity with my meter then plug in the camper. It has done it's job once and shut off power when voltage went too low (older campground and too many A/C's on nearby).

The EMS unit already does that for you so you don't need to do it yourself too.

I know, it's just the electronics technician side of me that keeps me doing it that way. Always nice to know if what is going on at at the pedastal before plugging in.
