Popping 40 amp bus fuse

Suppose to be leaving in the morning and pulled it up to load and get everything going. No A/C and frig would not kick on. Lights and slide out fine. We have a brand new battery, since we found this to be dead yesterday. Got new fuses and it pops as soon as we put a new one in. Disconnected battery and just plugged in and it doesn't pop it. But as soon as we reconnect the battery it goes again! Anyone know what could cause this?? This is our first camping trip of the season and a much needed get away after moving our house and business these past few month!

That sounds exactly what it is, and the reverse polarity fuse(s) are blowing.

It happens a lot, and the reverse polarity fuse(s) keep the converter and electronics from getting damaged.

Is that what happened, the battery wires were hooked back up backwards? It's real easy to do, especially if the wires are black and white. Since it's intuitive for the black wire to be negative like in a vehicle, it's common to hook it to the battery negative post.

However, the RV is wired like a house, and the black is the hot wire in that color code scheme usually.
