power awning

anybody replace their motor (them self) on their dometic awning? mine went out a couple days ago and I need a new switch and motor.. dometic 895

Not hard to do at all, just undo the wires, drill the rivets out, remove the one bolt and pull the motor out. Should take about 20 minutes start to finish. Had one replaced in Goshen last year and had to show the techs how to do it and they even used my pop rivet gun.

I carry 2 spare motors with me just in case.

Look on ebay, I picked one up for $75 including shipping.

tks, the motors are 299 ouch.... mine failed up, we were camping the last 7 days and it rained every day... do i have to secure the awning up when i pull the motor? or have the replacement in my hand and then swap. as i would like to fix the motor at work..

Pulled the motor, it is locked up and fried. Tried to pull it apart but the China man put it together really tight. So got to find one to replace.
