Power Converter Issues

I have a 1995 Sandpiper that has a Series 6300 A model 6345 Magnetek 45 Amp. Last season I noticed that my furnace wouldn't stay running through the night. I would make sure the batteries were full charged, but I would have the same problem that night. At the same time when I would plug my trailer into the outlet at home or to my generator I could hear the fan in the power converter come on within a matter of minutes. The inductor inside would be very hot and the only way the fan would stop running is if I took the cover off. I am a new to owning a trailer and I'm not sure what the problem may be. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
