So the inverter is on and the fridge is on. And if i am correct if i turn off the inverter then the fridge goes off. Should the inverter fan always be or does that have something to do with the low battery's. The light is yellow. I have a WFCO 5110-HP.

I did not give my electrician an outlet, i just told him 30 amp, so he goes a 30amp 240v outlet and installed it. If the inverter is working correct as i said above, i only lost the converter which i will call myself super lucky!

It sounds like you have dodged a major bullet and only lost your converter.
What is your converter's model number. This might be a golden opportunity to upgrade the one you have (most likely also WFCO) to a third party converter that will slip right into the space currently occupied by the failed unit.

WF-5110HP | wfcoelectronics.com
"WFCO 1000 Watt power inverters are engineered for outstanding performance.*They provide high-efficiency power at full-load conditions with safeguards that include overload protection, over-temperature protection, and short-circuit protection. The cooling fan enhances efficiency as its operation is controlled by the amount of load incurred by the inverter.
When connected to either shore power or a generator, the WFCO inverter provides direct AC pass through. FCC Class B compliance, which means that the converters are designed not to cause interference with televisions, radios, or other signals. The upgraded WF-5110HP model simplifies and provides certainty in product testing and on the production line for RV manufacturers. The WF-5110HP features a plug-and-play design that allows it to be simply plugged into an AC outlet to connect directly to the RV’s AC system. It will convert 12 VDC to 110 VAC, and has a remote control system and built-in circuit protection on the AC side."

Try hooking up a dedicated charger to your batteries and get them up to speed. As voltage on your batteries drop, the amperage required to start your residential fridge's compressor (an inductive load) goes up. This is not healthy for the camper's compressor and it will eventually burn up the motor's windings if the built in thermal circuit protection keeps opening and closing as it oscillates around its opening temperature.

OK so an update. Hopefully i can answer my final question. I replace the WFCO converter with the same unit. Didn't know upgrade was an option for something like this. The converter works. Battery's are all charges and the converter turned off.

Now that I have that all up i have some questions on the inverter. I have the WFCO WF-5110HP. Does the inverter have to be on for power to go thru it? If the inverter is off the fridge doesn't work. Once i turn the inverter on, the fridge goes on. And then the converter kicked on too, assuming charging the batteries. The inverter is saying 117v and the fan is running. The light on the inverters is yellow. I turned it off because i didn't want to ruin anything.

Can someone help? Is this normal? I haven't camped or used the camper yet so not sure what normal is yet.

As far as I have been able to determine, the inverter should be ON to operate the fridge (in any mode). You turn it off only when you don't want to power the fridge (winterized - storage).

But should the inverter fan always be on? Why would the converter kick on when the inverter was going if it was just passing thru?

The converter is powering the camper's 12 volt DC demand which can include charging the batteries. I believe if the load is anything over 5 amps or so, the fan will operate to cool the diode bridge heat sink.

The inverter's fan I am not sure what demand will cause the fan to run.
It is also the charger for the dedicated Fridge battery(s). If they are low, the inverter will use some of the incoming AC to charge the fridge batteries and that could cause a demand that requires the cooling fan.

It sounds like everything is working properly. You can be sure by measuring the voltage at the battery terminals; they should be over 13 volts when charging.

They are over 13 volts. The fridge doesn't have a separate battery, same 2 12v as the fifth wheel. I was under impression the inverter should not run at all when on shore power.

It is the battery charger for the Fridge. One of those batteries should for the camper and is charged by the converter, the other should be for the Fridge and charged by its dedicated inverter/charger. The batteries should not be connected to each other.

I went back out to check and the camper has a diagram how to hook it up and it is right. I also verified the ac input has 120v.

Yellow light is good, your invertor will sense which power to draw from if you are plugged in it will run off A/C if your are on batteries it will run and convert the 12v to 110v. it is working correctly. It will do it by itself, you have solved your problem..... Fan will come on auto when needed. you do not have a sperate battery for it, it draws from both 12v batteries. By the way what did you find out about your 30 amp plug in your barn? If you ever get another convertor get a Progressive direct replacement it has 2 cooling fans, and is 4 stage not 3 stage like your WFCO. You can also get manual for the unit on line. That invertor retails at $598.00.

I stand corrected. Learn something new about how these units are wired every day. It is tough keeping up.

WFCO said 120 side of inverter is probably shot as I should get a green light when on shore power.

That would make sense, as that what it says in attached manual for "green light on" when AC is present.....so most likely relay transfer switch inside defective or the receptacle supplying the inverter has no power (breaker tripped, not plugged in etc etc).

I have 2016 FRSierra 377FLIK. My residential fridge works on shore power (when plugged in) even when inverter is turned off. I need to turn off AC breaker in panel to turn fridge off when plugged in.
