recently, my storage lot was broken into and every trailer, from pop up to class a were rummaged thru. luckily for me, the only got away with the power cord that plugs into the bumper. no other damage to mine or any others other than whatever had copper in them and were easily accesible.
my question to you is, does anybody know if there is a kit that would allow me to take my cord with me? kind of like how they have the plug in power supply cord that you screw into the side of the trailer? i was also thinking setting a rather large rat trap to put in with coiled up power cord so if this were to happen again, somebody would be getting their fingers broke for their trouble.
Had a Marinco Conversion Kit on last RV. once installed you unscrew a retaining ring and pull the plug. you can store the chord any where you want. The nice thing is your not always pulling the chord out and stuffing it back into the access hole
There were some 50 amp cords but they were about $360.
I was interested in doing this too, but with the mounts and cord I could replace my power cord about 2-3 times.
all i need is the cord that goes from 5th wheel hitch to bumper receptacle. was thinking i could just get the cord, wire in another bumper type receptacle, and wire another end on the the power cord to match. wont matter which way it gets plugged in, plus makes very portable
Semi truck and trailers have female conectors on them. The cable to connect them has males on both ends. You could do the same thing with a 7 rv plug. Just get another female at walmart, tractor supply, or atwoods. Get a couple males and some 7in 1 wire at the parts store and your good to go.
Never thought about doing it before but I think it would be a great idea!
my thoughts exactly miller time. with thousands of miles and countless hitch/unhitch procedures, they have proven to be very sturdy.it would help slow the theiving bas***d down or at least cause him to move on.
