Should i have power to my tt rockwood 8313ss when it is hooked up to my truck with the 7 pin trailer harness ? I took the battery out does that make a difference? 2001 f150 5.4 or is it my truck wiring? It is a older truck help.
Nope! Not without a battery. Your pigtail will barely supply more than a trickle charge to the battery.

On a 2001 F150, in order to get power to the trailer, the key must be in the "on" position. There is a relay, under the hood fuse box, that supplies power when the key is on.

Check that the relay is actually installed. I have had two F-150s, a 1997 and a 2008, both new from factory. In both trucks that relay (and a couple of misc cables) came in a plastic bag in the glove box!
