Prodigy p3

I just put a new prodigy p3 in my 2013 tundra and I also got the harness that prodigy offered for Toyota. Is it supposed to be on all the time or should it shut off when the key is off. I know it can vary from different trucks. But are they any tundra owners that have one. Thanks.

Well I just asked same question on a tundra forum and was told it shuts off after a while, so I went and checked and sure enough it's off. Sorry guys.

I have the P3 in a Sequoia and the screen will go blank as it enters its power saving mode after about 15 minutes of inactivity.

Where did you end up installing the controller in the Tundra?

Right there. I seen it on etrailer website. I seem where guys have been mounting them in the center cubby behind cup holders but I didn't want to make the wires longer. So far so good it's not in the way and its easy to see

That's exactly where I have mine, too. It works well there, is easy to reach and no problems with knee clearance for me. I also considered the cubby but I like to store my wallet there when I drive.

Once in a while, mine won't turn off at all, and may not work. I've never been able to pinpoint what causes this issue. But to shut it down and reset it, I have to pull the fuse under the hood. I put my P3 in the cubby right in front of the shifter.

When I had my Tundra that is exactly where mine was. Towed several thousand trouble free miles with it.

I would let tekonsha know. They should send you a replacement. Mine was acting a little funny (display not lighting up all the time). They mailed me a new one and a postage paid return envelope for the faulty one. No hassle and a quick exchange.
