Question Progressive 50 EMS placement

I have a 2019 CC 38 EL Champange ,I purchased a hard wired 50 amp EMS system from Pprogressive industries Where inside the unit is the best place to install. Some of my concerns are if ever used i would imagine the system is fried and saves my rv i would need to replace it to have electricity.also it has a digital reader to display where to install is my question.

Of course it needs to be very soon after the power enters the unit and it may be hard to find a good place for it. I looked at one like you got and opted for the portable one because I couldn't find a good place to install it.

I don't have a CC but...
Where is your power panel (circuit breakers/fuses)? On my trailer there was a bunch of room behind it. I unscrewed the panel and was able to slide it out far enough to work behind it. I rewired so that the main wire into the panel went into the Progressive and then added a short piece of wire into the panel. My display is mounted low next to my entry door so I can check it easily while hooking up without going into the trailer.

I'm with SailorSam. I hope SailorSam has the display inside the RV as they are not weather resistant. My TT has a small door in the bathroom that had 3 hinges holding it closed. I removed the single hinge by the door handle and the backside of the power center was inside. I connected the EMS in the power cable and ran the wire for the display up the wall next to the control panel. I can see both the control panel and display from the door. I then used a roller catch to hold the cabinet door closed. Pics attached.

Hello. I have a 2019 CC 38el. The dealer installed mine behind the closet by the door. The display is in the cabinet with a override if you decide to hookup to a generator. Real nice system.

I removed my electrical panel and installed behind it. Disconnected the wires from panel. Fed them into the ems then ran 3-#6 wire to panel. Reinstalled panel.

I have a 2017 CC with generator prep. Makes for a very easy install in fwd cargo next to transfer switch.

We have a 2019 36ck2 and found by pulling out the trash pullout you have complete access to the back of the converter. A lost cat in the wall showed me this space. Fpund cat, food hound so put food in his bowl and rattled it , was out in a min.

Same camper for me. Easy access to install the EMS once the trash can door is pulled out. There was enough cable from the wall inlet to the back of the distribution panel that I didn't have to add any additional wire. Installed the readout panel near all the light switches inside the closet door. Drilled a small hole near one of the switches and ran the communication wire down to the EMS. Hardest part was wrestling #6 wire in the limited area of the EMS.

If you have a PI ele. management system you need a neutral grounding plug that is plugged into one of the Honda generators for them to work with the PI system.

If you Google “how to build a neutral grounding plug” for use with PI and Honda gen. It will show you how to make one for a couple of bucks.

You could add male and female plugs to the cable inside the RV and then plug in a outside EMS inside the unit. If it fails remove it and plug the cable with it.

I install a 30a sub panel in my electrical bay with a plug & outlet for my PI surge protector. My Samlex EVO-2212 Inverter/Charger is my electrical management.

Yup, just inside the main door. On my trailer, power panel is under my fridge which is also just forward of the door. The display is just over a foot above the floor next to a fire extinguisher. Not all that easy to see when in the trailer but perfect for initial hookup...

I did read about several people using plugs to facilitate removing the EMS if they traded for a new RV. Since I would have to pull the power panel to remove the EMS anyway and because I didn't cut the input wire. I didn't bother using plugs for connecting. Not that much more work to just put things back to original setup.

Typical generator has a floating ground and ems will not allow generator power to RV.

I removed the furnace cover and placed it right in front , the wires r stiff and hard to work with but made it , if needed to repair I can splice the wires right there
