I've never heard mine hum, which is why I asked the tech.

The armature in the relay is what is buzzing actually. If the contacts where buzzing there would be sparks and smoke.

Just relaying exactly what the tech told me and what worked for me. I see your point though, and maybe I didn't get into enough technical detail to describe the issue from an electrical engineers stand point. But, my hum was gone, my unit has worked flawlessly and I had hopes of assisting someone else if they had the same issue as I.

lol mine doesn't hum but it has hawed.
(insert duck my head here - cause DW just read this and went to slap me)

good to know that the air under it keeps it cool.

Better if use softer rubber. Need 2 per screw. One on each side of screw.

Is this happening with 30 or 50 amp units?

I had a 30 and never heard a hum.

I have the 50 amp installed in my TT and have never heard any hum at all.
