Nothing bad... we are all learning every day.

As mentioned in another post about the connectors in the outlets... they are NOT your typical 120v outlet with screws on the sides to fasten the wires.

They are inexpensive (cheap) plastic outlets with metal slots where the wires simply are pushed into the slots to make connection. They don't even remove the insulation in most cases.

Many instances of the wire(s) backing out or coming loose.

Best of luck.

Chinese Crap! You wouldn't put these in your house, so why accept them in your RV? Best thing to do is rip them all out and replace them with Leviton Nema5 receptacles. Not that expensive at Home Depot.

Go down to your local hardware store or a big box like Lowes and buy an outlet tester. They are cheap and it will tell you if the outlet is grounded or if the hot and neutral are reversed. Nice to use in the home also.

Get a tester

I agree with others here that those boxes should be replaced. Electrical connections should be thoroughly shielded from the wood components of your RV. Beyond that, regarding the question of three wires or two, ground or no... You need to get a standard plug-in-and-light-up receptacle tester. They are cheap and tell you immediately if your wiring is ungrounded, reversed or otherwise disconnected. That needs to be in your tool kit. Safety first.

Oaklevel: I copied this from the internet for you. A ground wire is needed for the outlet or the box needs to be grounded. Either way, a ground is needed:

Old-fashioned two-prong receptacles connected to two-wire cables don't have the ground wires that protect people and electrical devices in case of a fault. Yet it is possible to retrofit a new three-prong or GFCI receptacle into the same outlet box without any rewiring, as long as the box itself is grounded.

The problem on my old unit(and I'm sure new) is the thickness of the wall. I got some slimline boxes to install the outlet/charging station plugs. Then I discovered the Mickey Mouse(sorry Mickey) type outlets. Mmmm. Crap.
Then the storm took it out.
