Reduce Interior Light Brightness

Hi All....Starting to get some of my ducks in a row before our big vacation this year. I have the typical pankake lights at the head of the bed in the master bedroom and they are so so bright even with a single bulb. Is there a way to reduce the "output" of these bulbs? I know it will require a bulb change and I am not positive but I think they are #1076 in there now. It would be nice for my wife to read a book......without me yelling at her to turn the light off. Im sure she would appreciate your input!!
