Reset button in bathroom keeps popping off
Can anyone tell me why the reset button in the bathroom keeps popping off? We have a 2017 34RE, Hathaway fifth wheel. We were sitting there watching tv when some of the lights went off. We reset the breakers in the main box but were unable to reset the one in the bathroom for some reason. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but we just purchased a new lamp and when the lights went out the bulb in the lamp quit working. It didn't actually blow out with a pop, it's just like it went out.
The circuit that's out is the bathroom, the outlets on each side of the stove and the one on the end of the sink cabinet. Thanks!

Did you buy chance run the microwave and something else, like the electric water heater at the same time?
This will pop the bathroom GFI in a lot of RV's.

I'm pretty sure he's referring to the GFCI. Mine does the exact same thing. I've never tried to track it down, but I can say for sure for me it's not the microwave. But I can't figure out what it might be.

So does your reset button fail to reset? Just keeps popping back out? How do you fix that? What may be causing it? Thanks

Was that new lamp plugged into an outlet that is controlled by the same GFCI circuit? If so, and it never happened before the new lamp, I would blame the lamp or florescent bulb in it if it has one. Those florescent bulbs have a built in transformer and can sometimes cause weird issues.

No. Nothing at the same time when it went off. Yes it was the same circuit.

Strange thing is that the bedroom lights work and they're on the same GFCI

Did you try resetting the GFCI and NOT plugging in the new lamp? Does it still trip?

Nope -- not normally... only outlets are on GFCIs, not lights.

I would doubt that. Usually lights & outlets are on different circuits/breakers.

Yes. It still trips. We removed the lamp immediately.

On the main circuit board fuse, when we trip that main fuse, part of the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom outlets and the sink cabinet doesn't work. When we reset the main fuse the bedroom lights work and the rest doesn't. Am I making any sense?

The GFCI master outlet is the one with a Test and a Reset button. Other GFCI protected outlets are daisy-chained downstream -- these are outlets within about 6' of a water source including kitchen sink, bathroom sink and shower AND outside outlet(s). If you've had rain or washed the outside of your unit, etc., water may have gotten into the outside outlet.

Mostly... but those "trippable" things in your main power centers are called breakers, not fuses. Tripping a main breaker or the one for the GFCI circuit turns off the power to the GFCI master outlet (in your bathroom) and it needs power to reset.
