RV Electric vs. Standard Electric

I am looking to book some nights at a Federal campground in PA. I plugged in that i have a 25' TT and i wanted 30A service with full hook-ups... the results keep coming back with two different electrical options... "RV Electric" and "Standard Electric." I noticed too that if there's 100 campsites (for ex), 95 of them will be "Standard" and only 5 are "RV Electric". What the heck is the difference? Will i need some sort of adapter to plug in my TT?

If the web site does not specify, then you need to call an ask. If I had to guess, the electric sites may only 20amp, and the RV sites 30/50amp. I would be surprised if any had a sewer connection.

Are you certain that it's not two terms that you are running together?

As in the site has electric...and a standard site

or the site has electric....and a RV site with possible full hookups

If it has an amenities section, look to see the difference between standard and RV.

I've called all day (ok... Twice), to no avail. Sites are specific as to what the amperage is... You can request 20, 30 or 50Amp service... And when you select the details, it will tell you that it is, in fact, 30A. No other explanation given, however... I just thought someone on here would know.
And yes... This campground includes water & sewer, as do a number of federal campgrounds throughout the state (and country)... And only $30/night!

Not running them together... Site shows this.... Say there 100 sites, there will be hot links for two options... RV Electric (2) Standard Electric (98), and you can select either one for available options.

I've looked all over the site and there's no explanation that I could find. That said... I did find a campground that did have just two RV Electric sites... I clicked on those and the one thing they have in common is that it says "not suitable for tents."

You can check it out... Cheap camping (with a limited number of campgrounds with full hookups)... http://www.recreation.gov

My guess is the ones that say "RV Electric" and "not suitable for tents" ONLY have a 30 RV plug, but not a "standard" 20a plug.

Those that say "standard" have both 30A RV receptacle and a "standard" 20a receptacle.

Why would they have a campground that only had two 30a RV sites?

I'm just thinking out loud mostly... But I think you might be onto something with your theory. Pretty sure you hit the nail.
I'm somewhat new to this Hook-ups camping thingy and wasn't sure if something wasn't upgraded and had old style plugs or what have you.

I've had a similar issue with RV vs Standard electric wondering the difference. At Victoria Campground on Allatoona Lake (Etowah River) in Georgia (National campground), they have RV electric and Standard Electric with majority being Standard. My site is a pull-through standard electric and I was able to choose from "15 amps or more" to "50 amps or more." I have a 2006 29 ft Winnebago Outlook I'm fairly new to RV'ing and have taken an older RV a couple years ago 3 times. This will be my first with the Winnie or 4th time RV'ing. And I live about 20-30 minutes away. LOL.
