RV horn alarm due to generator use

While parked short term, I turned on the generator in order to use the A/C. After less than 5 minutes, the RV horn started honking, and flashers flashing. Turning off the generator stopped the honking and flashing, except for two reps of 3 honks which followed the turning off of the generator, and about 30 seconds of no honking.

Here are the details that might be relavent, that I can think of:

2015 Forester 3051S

Onan 4000

Fridge set to auto (propane/electric, so would have switched to electric when generator came on)

A/C and bedroom TV (DC powered) were the only other appliances running.

Park break on

Full tank of gas

Leveling jacks up

Thanks in advance for any help with this issue.

That's weird.

Sounds like the generator is setting off the chassis theft alarm. Were the cab doors locked? Try running the generator with the doors unlocked, which should shut off the alarm system. If that doesn't prevent the alarm from activating, try with the chassis ignition switch on accessory or run.

I've set off the alarm a few times when I dropped the keys (with the remote fob), but I've run our generator many times with the doors locked and had no alarm.

Thanks for the tip. I ran the generator this weekend with no issues. I think the doors were unlocked. I can't recall if they were locked when I had the issue.
