My replacement plug end is not as waterproof as the molded on ones.

You could make it waterproof with some silicone sealer

Any ideas??
Our TH is 30 amp. I carry a 30 to 50 dogbone because when we do have hookups many old camp sites the 30 socket is badly worn so it gives me the option to use the offer less worn 50 amp outlet. I have also seen 30 to 30 dogbones which is a direct answer to the question.

I just got back from 7 weeks on the road through 6 western states and stayed at over 20 RV parks along the way.

Of those RV parks I stayed at, only three of them had the circuit breaker flipped off...

What that tells me is that a majority of today's RV'ers either don't know or don't care about plugging in or out of these pedestals with the power turned off.

And I've never had park employees tell me to do that at check in...

I turned them off when I plugged in and off before I unplugged and left it that way for the next one to use my sites!

I also have the 50 to 30 dogbone which I now always use if I can, plus a 30 amp surge protector that I put at the power pedestal, which did alert me to a couple of bad pedestals on that trip.

Also had three pedestals die on me during that trip that had to get fixed by park staff.

I also do have an internal surge protector that I need to get installed sometime soon.

Question, has anyone had a problem between a 50->30 and the 30amp main cord? Wondering if rain or anything else would cause issues.

Also, to KyDan's thought of just leaving his sacrificial permanently attached. Would just natural oxidation catch up with that? I'd think it should be taken apart regularly to check and clean...

Where the blade and forks make good contact there won't be any oxidation. However I would recommend using a good dielectric grease if you're going to leave them connected permanently. As I stated earlier, I use it on all my plugs.
