Save battery life

I bought a new 12 volt battery for my TT. We are going down south from Iowa in a couple months and wonder if I should do anything above and beyond to extend my battery life.

In our driveway, I keep the camper plugged into shore power 110ac. We occasionally do maintenance and getting ready for our trip.

With a full charge in the battery, would it be best to disconnect the battery (we have a switch) and leave it plugged into shore?

Or, should I disconnect battery and unplug from shore power?

Thoughts?
Thanks.

Leave the switch on, battery connected and leave it plugged in to shore power. The converter will maintain the battery.

Yep, don't disconnect the battery and keep the shore cord plugged into shore power. Let the converter do its job.

Go buy a battery meter and check it now and then.

If you never run the battery below 12.0 volts it will last a long time. Otherwise, modern rv’s can kill a battery in a year.

A furnace is a killer as is a residential fridge or cpap.

If it is a wet cell battery and has fill caps (a lot of deep cycles are and do), I would also check the water when first storing it. A proper storage charger/converter should not boil the water off, but it would not hurt to check it every month or so until you are certain the water level is staying put.
