shorting out electrical , blowing fuse

We are having a problem with our 2011 vlite forestriver model FLT 30 WRLTS electrical circuit that includes the bed reading lts, lt over dining table, lts over couch, rear reading lts, and lts over the kitchen stove. It blows the fuse when the bedroom slide out goes in/out. This is the 2nd fuse from the top of fuse bank. Any suggestions?? Does the wiring harness go under the bedroom slideout and is it reachable if you take the bottom cover off of the undercarriage?? Hope someone has a suggestion.
Thank you,
Mike Allford

Mike,

If your camper is still under warranty I would bring it to your dealer (or call FR for the closest service center) for repair. Dropping the belly cover is no small job.

Hard to tell from your description, but I am assuming you mean the DC wire that feeds the lighting inside the slide. This wire sounds like it is being pinched and shorted by the slide mechanism. It may have caused a wear spot in the wire bundle.

There is a plastic covered wire that snakes under the slide (outside underneath of the slide - you can see it when it is open) that could be the culprit. That wire may need to be moved further away from the moving parts.
