My wife's CPAC runs on 120 volts AC. The 120V AC is ran into a DC transformer which takes it to 18 volts DC. Instead of using invertered 120 V AC to power it when we camp, I bought a DC-DC converter which pumps 12 volts up to 18 volts. I cut put quick connect/disconnect electrical connector inline with the CPAC's transformer to do this. Works perfectly. I tapped into bedroom reading light and ran the 12V DC to the nightstand where I wired everything up so it looked good. I used aviation plugs for my quick connect/disconnect plugs.

They sell travel CPAP machines that run on either AC or a rechargeable battery. I think you can buy a DC adapter also but I'm not sure. I just purchased one this winter and the flexibility along with the reduced size ( same dimensions and about 2.5 x as thick as my cell phone) has made all my travel (haven't gotten to take it camping yet in the north country) much, much easier.

DW's CPAP runs on either 120V AC with a 12V DC step down transformer or I can plug it into the good ole cigarette lighter 12V outlet. Label on the bottom says it's 3A so a medium size energy hog

I bought one of these outlets so we can plug in a phone if we need to.

Have not read all of the threads here...BUT...you can expose the wire to an interior wall and run it inside a metal/plastic self adhesive conduit down the wall to the location that you need to install the plug....J

Good tip on the self-adhesive conduit. A lot of them can be tucked near a corner and aren't very conspicuous. Of course, I did it the hard way by routing the wiring behind wall and furniture (built in night table) panels.
