Silverback 29RE inverter question

I purchased a new 29RE a couple of months ago. It has the residential refer with a 1000 watt inverter. I'm trying to understand the inverter wiring. It appears that the inverter is only connected to the 120 volt outlet behind the refer. I really need the ability to run a small air compressor. The refer outlet cannot be accessed without removing screws and pulling the refer out of the cabinets that it's built into.

Has anyone else added an outlet to their inverter? If so, where did you tie into the inverter 120 volt outlet? It looks like I can add a junction box in the romex coming from the inverter, and tie an outlet into that jbox.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

dg

An air compressor no matter how small could kill your battery bank really fast.

Donnie, you're right, and if I were boondocking, that would be a problem. I want the air compressor available while traveling when the truck would still be connected. In case of a slow leak, or if I forget to air the spare tire. At least this is my thinking.

Just buy the 12VDC high volume one from Harbor Freight ($50). Clips on to any battery terminals ... has a reaonably long hose, and carry case. I've used one for several years for intermittant use even on my LT235 85 R16's. Think about it ... perhaps it will beat monkeying around with the inverter idea.

I do the same, Home depot 12v compresser, also have the 12v extention cord and a portable battery jump box that I plug into if needed.
