slide only works in one direction

Hello all. I am new here.My problem is I have a 2008 foerest river grey wolf 235 bh that the slide only works in one direction, out. Now I can change the wires on the motor and it will come in but still pushhing the out botton.Does anybody have any suggestions. If I could find a wiring diagram it would really help.

Sounds like a broken switch or a bad wire on the back of it.
The switch "flips" polarity supplying power to the motor.

Switch in polarity one way; switch out polarity the other.

It is good news the motor runs. It is a PITA to change.
The switch is MUCH easier.

thanks for the reply herk. I thought it my be the switch so I replaced it and it still does the exact same thing so the power must be switched somewhere else.I tried to run down the wireing but once it goes into the wall I cant find it.

Are you sure you replaced the wires correctly? It is a pretty complex arrangement of wires back there as it is a double throw double pole center OFF switch that switches both positive and ground depending on whether up or down.

A photo of how you wired it might help.

Now I really need a photo.
There should be 6 lugs on that switch.
All are needed. I will photo my switch. BRB.

I see now. You are right. 5 wires but they saved a wire by interconnecting them via the switch body itself.

All of the switching is done in the switch body. If you have replaced the switch itself you may need to do some more troubleshooting with a meter to find out if the socket is bad.

that is exactly what I have.I am tring to trace the wires to the motor. There must be a connection somewhere because at the motor my wires are black and white and there is no white wire at the switch.

See if you can "gently" tug the wires out of the wall behind the switch. It is pretty crowded back there and a wire may have pulled out of a crimp hat. You may have to remove ALL the switches in the panel to get enough room to work.

That special connector has a pigtail I am almost sure and there are "run" wires crimped to the ends.

Herk I got it fixed. I want to thank you for your help. I was able to pull the wires out of the wall behind the switch and one of the black wires had come out of the wire nut.For your information both black wires were wire nutted to a white wire making them both ground the green wire was out the yellow wire was in and the red wire was hot. any case we are ready to go camping again thanks again and happy camping
