Solar Charger

I have a 09 Wolfpack 27DFWP that came with a built in solar charger. Does anyone know if it charges the battery when the 12V disconect inside the RV is turned off or only works with the switch on? I'm concidering leaving the battery hooked up through the winter if the solar will keep the battery through the winter. That way should I go in the RV during the winter months I can still have power if needed. I could go hook a meter up on a sunny day but figured it would be easier to ask and see if anyone knows. I've asked the dealer but they don't seem to know anything about it. They couldn't even tell me the size of the charger. sill not 100% sure on that. I've heard 5 watt and also 15 watt.
