Solar panel and power

Is it ok to have power and a solar panel connected at the same time. Only reason I ask is I will be away from my camper for a week and will leave it plugged in with the fridge on but in the event the power may go out I will be leaving the propane on and would like the batteries to also stay charged if the power goes out. What does everyone think ?

If it's only a week I wouldn't worry about it.. How many batteries do you have? What size? How reliable is the power where you're plugged in to?

That's difficult to say without knowing which converter you have, what solar controller you are using, the size of your array, and the type and capacity of your battery bank.

Yes, as long as your solar panels are running through a charge controller. The controller would prevent over-charging of the batteries.
