Solar Panel Needs

I am looking to purchase a solar panel for my Prism 24EF for when we are boondocking in some of our area's parks. I've spoken to several RV suppliers and have looked through the forum but have gotten conflicting information or technical talk that is difficult to get clear on. Any guidance anyone could provide would be appreciated.

My RV is operating off of two 12v deep cycle batteries. I currently have a Furrion connection on the outside, which I understand is just a pre-wired connection to the batteries. What size panels do I need, and what other associated components would go with it?

Again, thank you.

Bruce

I wish there was a stock answer , but unfortunately there is not. Before you purchase anything, I recommend you get a good usage monitor and do a trial camp where you have shore power back up. Once you determine your needs, you can start purchasing equipment. Things to consider, Every day is not sunny. What is the percentage of sunny days where you camp. Do you camp in the open or in wooded sites ( limited sun)? Ready made kits are quick and easier to implement, but individual components usually result in a more efficient better performing system. When you consider the controller, always go one size up so you can add panels without buying a new controller.
