Source of two conductor type AWM wire?
I have gotten to the point of making additions and modifications to the wiring of my 2014 R-Pod 171. Factory wiring, in general uses color coded two conductor stranded type AWM (Appliance Wiring Material).
I'm looking for a source of this wire, preferably in manageable lengths (I don't want to buy fifty feet if I need ten), and am having trouble finding it.
Anyone know a source?
Thanks,
John

You can use standard lamp cord. One side has a tracer like a ridge moulded in to identify which wire is which. OR possibly a thread wound in with the copper conductors.

I have done that for a couple of things but I don't like it. Lamp cord/zip cord has really crummy insulation and I don't like it for hidden installations.

If you have any marinas or a West Marine near you, they usually have a decent selection. I've used West Marine for two conductor in the past for the trailer and our boat.

You can get smaller sizes at Lowe's etc. Most have them in the spools to be cut from.

I use red (positive) and black (negative) 14 gauge any time I am modifying factory 12V wiring in my A-frame. I bought about 50ft of each. There are no circuit draws over 15 amps (except for the battery where I used 6 gauge), so 14 gauge is good. I much prefer the marine/automotive standards to the orange (or whatever color FR used) stripe/white wire. If I need to label what circuit the wire is on, I print an adhesive label and attach it to the wire.
For 120V circuits I used standard 12 gauge 2 conductor (plus ground) household wire from Home Depot.

I am in the process of wiring a solar controller and found that my local electric supply sells wire by the foot. As stated earlier, home depot does also.

Speaker wire!
If Amazon or Ebay don't have it you don't need it
For a local source, car stereo shops often carry larger size wires for high power applications.
I have used landscape light cable for solar panel feed wires. And you can have any color you want as long as it is black.
I also like the boat suppliers. They have all kinds of cool electrical goodies

I got a big roll of 4 conductor out of the clearance bin at CW for $3. IIRC it was 50', supposedly to wire up a 4 pin connector. I just whack off how ever much I need and split it.

You should be able to walk into any electrical supply house (the kind that the electricians go to for all their supplies) and buy just what you need in whatever length you desire.
