Stop light inop?

Well my DW said the last time I was backing the trailer in next to the house the right rear brake light wasn't working. Well today I finally got around to checking into the problem. I was hoping it would be a simple bulb replacement. Well I found it wasn't the bulb instead it was a loose connection on my truck. However, in my attempt to check the bulb this happened...

It basically crumbled in my hands. I sent my dealer an email with the details and pics, but was just wanting to show everyone here how brittle these things are. Make sure your not going anywhere for a while or at least make sure you have a spare assembly laying around. Good thing is they are really inexpensive (or should I say 'cheap')

WOW!

That looks like my luck when trying to repair things, do more damage than was originally there!

Hopefully the dealer will replace it for you.

Well, talked to my dealer today and she was really nice. She said she wasn't sure if it was covered under the warranty but she was going to word it so that it was covered. Either way it's only ten bucks for a whole new light assembly.
