After any multi strand conductor is secured with a screw type connection, I recommend wiggling the wire and retighten the screw. This allow the strands to seat properly, reduce the chances of arcing, the wire coming loose, and will save you some grief down the road.

I usually always tin stranded wire when putting it in a lug to be tightened.
Providing the tinning is done properly. I have seen tinned connection fail in another application. Assumptions were that there was a blob of solder on the conductor when the connection was made. When the unit was put in service, the blob liquidified / melted under high current conditions and created a loose connection... Ensure there are no lumps/blobs when tinning a wire.
